About me

Hi, I’m Jiri Olah, a DevOps Engineer from north of the Czech Republic with over 8 years of experience in building and managing scalable infrastructures. I began my career at Stable.cz as a Linux Administrator, where I supported major Czech internet projects like Slevomat.cz, Rohlik.cz, and Glami.cz. Later, I joined ESET Research Czech as a System Engineer, managing both cloud and on-premises infrastructures, including critical systems like the ESET Cloud Administrator.

My passion for public cloud technologies led me to Memsource a.s. (now known as Phrase a.s.), where I played a key role in migrating our workloads to AWS Kubernetes. I also took on a Tech Lead role for the Core Platform Team, focusing on building a resilient platform in AWS, enhancing developer experience, and optimizing AWS costs. Currently, I’m a Senior DevOps Engineer at Cookielab s.r.o., bringing innovative tech solutions to projects like Mailstep a.s. and EAG Group.

Aside from my primary focus in DevOps, I occasionally create simple websites, with projects like posedvlese.cz and viktorinovi.cz under my belt. When I’m not working on tech, I’m deeply into music, especially metalcore, hardcore, and deathcore. I’m also a big fan of tattoos, pop culture staples like Star Wars and Breaking Bad and video games.

I have a bit of a soft spot for dark humor—it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but it definitely keeps things interesting!
